Angkor Wat temple is the central tourist attraction in Siem Reap, but many people do not realize that it is just one of a large number of temples in what is known as the Angkor Park. Angkor Wat temple is often thought of as the jewel of the all the temples as it is the largest, and the most well preserved.
Staff at Cambodia D’Angkor Suites will be happy to provide you with general information about Angkor Wat temple and the surrounding temples. However, we recommend that to get the most out of a visit you hire an experienced temple guide to give the full history of Angkor as you go around the site. Our staff can recommend and arrange such a guide.
The Angkor park is located just a short tuk tuk ride away from Cambana D’Angkor Suites. Some guests enjoy waking up early to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat temple, and spending the morning exploring the surrounding sites. Other popular temples include the Angkor Thom complex – where you can find the intriguing Bayon temple – and Ta Prohm, where ancient trees have overrun the ruin. There are many other smaller temples and ancient sites that are also worth exploring, and may be substantially quieter than the “big three”.
A unique benefit of staying at Cambana D’Angkor Suites is that the Angkor-inspired decorations in the hotel allow you to be surrounded by the magic of the temple even when you have left the park. A visit to Angkor Wat temple can be very magical, but also sometimes hot and tiring. The swimming pool and relaxation area at Cambana D’Angkor Suites are the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. In addition, you can order food in our bar and restaurant so you can relax “at home” after a long day.
